Burlington based Business bank announced today the hiring of a Chief Credit Officer, Andy Hunter. Andy graduated from Sedro Woolley High School, the University of Washington, and received his Masters Degree from Pennsylvania State in 1981. In addition, he is a graduate of the Independent Community Bankers of America Graduate Banking School.

Andy began his banking career in the Skagit Valley in 1984, moving to Whidbey Island Bank, on Whidbey Island, in 1992. There he served in various capacities including Regional Manager, and Commercial Division Manager, Senior Vice President. Most recently Andy was Chief Credit Officer at Home Valley Bank in Grants Pass, Oregon.

“Mr. Hunter brings extensive loan knowledge and familiarity with local markets. His addition will add significant strength to our management team – further evidence we are taking major steps to strengthen the bank” stated CEO Mike Cann.

“I’m excited to join the team at Business Bank, pending regulatory approval, and am looking forward to once again working in the Skagit and Whatcom counties,” said Hunter. Andy will be available at the bank on June 2, 2010.

Business Bank plans to resume its capital campaign within 90 days with a strengthened management team at the helm, and a new course charted.
